RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno police say two people are dead after their vehicle was hit by a driver who ran a red light and may have been drunk.
Authorities say the crash happened a little before 8 p.m. on Saturday in the area of Mill Street and Rock Boulevard.
Police say it appears a car ran a red light and hit another vehicle, sending it onto its roof and into a field. The male and female inside were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver who hit the car was taken to the hospital with injuries that don't appear to be life-threatening. Police say they expect he'll be booked into the Washoe County Jail on two counts of driving under the influence.
Names of the people involved haven't yet been released.
