NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — North Las Vegas police are investigating after a man was shot dead on a sidewalk in what may have been a robbery.
Authorities say the shooting happened at about 6 a.m. Saturday near Tonopah Avenue and Stocker Street. Fifty-one-year-old Marlon Porfirio Osorio-Rivera was pronounced dead at the scene.
KLAS-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2briNzB) Osorio-Rivera had apparently parked his semi-truck after a shift at work and was preparing to head on a family trip to Southern California when the shooting happened.
Detectives say they believe Osorio Rivera may have been robbed in the encounter.
No suspects were immediately arrested. Authorities are asking anyone with information to call the North Las Vegas Police Department.
