RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno police say excessive speed may have played a role in a single-vehicle crash that killed a man on the southeast side of town.
Emergency crews extricated the victim from a Jeep Grand Cherokee just before 10 p.m. Friday in the area of East McCarran Boulevard and Mill Street. They attempted life saving measures but he was declared dead at the scene.
Police say witnesses reported that the Jeep was traveling at a high rate of speed just before it apparently left the road, hit a large tree and rolled over.
The driver was the only person in the vehicle. His name has not been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
