SPRINGDALE, Ark. (AP) — A former treasurer for the Northwest Arkansas Education Service Cooperative in Farmington has been charged with theft from the agency and with forgery.
The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/2bdBpW7 ) that 61-year-old Dianne Parrish of Springdale was arrested Thursday.
Parrish's attorney said he's waiting for prosecutors to provide him their evidence.
Court documents say an audit found that between February 2010 and May 2015 Parrish deposited more than $30,000 in agency funds into her personal bank account and used the cooperative's account to buy lumber, paint, kitchen and bathroom items. Cooperative director Charles Cuddney said Parrish retired in September 2015 after being suspended when officials became suspicious of her.
The cooperative provides professional development services to teachers, administrators and support staff in more than a dozen school districts in northwest Arkansas.
