NEW YORK (AP) — Arizona Diamondbacks ace Zack Greinke has been activated from the disabled list to start Tuesday night against the New York Mets.
Greinke last pitched on June 28 and exited with a strain on his left side. He is 10-3 with a 3.62 ERA.
The Diamondbacks also put catcher Welington Castillo on the paternity list. By rule, he'll miss from one to three games.
Catcher Oscar Hernandez was recalled from Double-A Mobile. He was hitting a combined .249 with 10 home runs and 31 RBIs at two levels of the minors.
