SALT LAKE CITY — Three fun stories from the world of sports in today's From Left Field!

1. Michael Phelps is displeased

South Africa's Chad Le Clos made a show of warming up in front of Michael Phelps last night, and Phelps was very, very unhappy about the situation.

The internet took advantage, making Phelps' face one of the most popular memes of 2016. Here are a few of the best:

2. Buster Posey's poor head-first slide

Buster Posey hit a triple in last night's Giants - Marlins game, but ended it with an unusual sliding technique:

> .[@BusterPosey](https://twitter.com/BusterPosey) playing his face off ... literally: [pic.twitter.com/F7FvZhzaQz](https://t.co/F7FvZhzaQz) > > — Cut4 (@Cut4) [August 9, 2016](https://twitter.com/Cut4/status/762860446558724096)

Ouch. Posey, by the way, says he'll slide feet first for the rest of the year.

3. Olympic shower works... with a twist

So you've probably heard about some of the problems in Rio's Olympic Village by now, forcing some teams to find alternative lodging for some of their athletes.

This one is a much more benign problem. This NPR reporter's shower doesn't work, unless the sink is also on.

> The shower in our hotel at [\#RioOlympics2016](https://twitter.com/hashtag/RioOlympics2016?src=hash) works -- with a twist.... cc [@NPR](https://twitter.com/NPR) [pic.twitter.com/psNi53zUhO](https://t.co/psNi53zUhO) > > — NPR Olympics News (@nprolympics) [August 6, 2016](https://twitter.com/nprolympics/status/761894612550160384)

I'm not sure what kind of plumbing mistakes are necessary for sink dials to control the shower flow, but, as the reporter points out, at least it works!
