LOGAN, W.Va. (AP) — Suzette Cook has been named interim superintendent of Logan County schools amid a state investigation.

WSAZ-TV (http://bit.ly/2b9kxkS ) reports the county Board of Education named Cook during a meeting Monday. She replaces Phyllis Doty, who announced her retirement last week.

Cook has held various roles over the past decade, including as superintendent of McDowell County schools.

County Board President Paul Hardesty announced last week that the school system is under investigation by the state Legislature's Commission on Special Investigations. Media outlets have reported the investigation focuses on purchases, including wedding decorations bought last year.
