This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

Do you remember a while back when I told you about Glo-Germ, the product that reveals how well you've washed your hands? Well, Glo-Germ is more than a product. It's an entire company located in Moab, and it has just introduced another product to help protect us from infectious diseases.

The product is the Aquia Sanitizing System. It produces ozone, which I just learned is 152 percent stronger than chlorine and kills germs 3,000 times faster.

Aquia basically consists of a spray bottle and a microprocessor that generates the ozone. To activate the system, you simply fill the spray bottle with regular tap water and set it on the microprocessor. Within minutes, the water becomes ozonated and ready to use.

When sprayed on a surface, the ozone in the water attacks and destroys germs and bacteria, leaving behind a surface that is 99 percent sanitized. So, it's very effective in cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, or any place germs might be.

But what gives Aquia an advantage over other cleaning products is that it doesn't leave any chemical or toxic residue. It's just water, and for that reason, it is safe to use even directly on food items. It can be sprayed on vegetables, fruit,--really anything edible. And can be eaten immediately after spraying!

I recently learned that more than 76 million cases of food-borne illnesses are reported every year by the National Centers for Disease Control. At least 5,000 people die every year from food-borne diseases caused by deadly germs and bacteria, such as E. coli, Salmonella and Listeria. Aquia destroys them all, and it doesn't lead to "super germs" or drug-resistant bacteria.

Glo-Germ will market Aquia in partnership with Waterpik Technologies of Colorado. And as part of the agreement, Glo-Germ has the exclusive right to market it for commercial use in the food, medical and childcare industries. Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas is already using the product in its kitchens and has reported tremendous cost savings on hot water alone. Amazing, huh?
