KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) — Kennesaw State University officials say a softball head coach has been fired after he improperly touched players and was verbally offensive toward members of the team.
Local news media report Thursday that Torrence Acheson was fired after an investigation found he violated the university's sexual harassment policies. The investigation by the University's Office of Title IX began after an anonymous letter was sent to the school's administration in June.
A 41-page report on the investigation states that Acheson's behavior was not criminal, but his interactions between with his team members were inappropriate. He is also accused of not telling school officials he resigned from his prior job instead being fired for financial malfeasance.
Acheson spent four years at the school and was beginning his second season as head coach.
