The law firm of Workman, Nydegger & Seeley has been honored as one of the “Top Plaintiff Firms” in the country by the legal trade journal IP Worldwide. The honor was based on the firm’s record on patent cases in 2001.

American Express of Salt Lake City is being honored for its work with the Assistance League of Salt Lake City. The national award recognizes companies that give extraordinary service to Assistance League programs.

The Thomas Kinkade Garden Gallery, located in Orem, was sixth in the nation for sales last February.

Here’s a Chamber History Fact: On this day in 1926, the Chairman of the Chamber’s Aviation committee, Ben F. Redman, along with businessman J.O. Tomlinson, became the first commercial airline passengers in the country to fly on a regularly scheduled air route. The Western Air Express flight from Salt Lake to Los Angeles began at 9:30 in the morning and ended in Los Angeles at 5:30 pm. Pacific Time. The carrier later changed its name to Western Airlines.

For decades hoards of happy Salt Lakers would take the train out to Saltair for a day of fun. Tonight hoards of eager business professionals will drive out to The Great Saltair for an evening of networking, food, and prizes.
