Here’s a Chamber history fact: In the 1960s, a secret room was discovered in the Chamber’s old headquarters at the Commercial Club. Located behind a trap door in the women’s restroom ceiling, it may have been used to hide alcohol during Prohibition. The Chamber no longer has any secret rooms.
Upon unanimous vote of the Salt Lake Chamber’s Board of Governors, Mitt Romney has been chosen as A Giant In Our City. Mitt will be honored at a banquet tomorrow at The Grand America. Various companies have come forward to support the Chamber in this event including Utah Power, UPS, Bonneville International Corporation, KSL Radio and Television, and Freebairn Entertainment.
