THIS IS LARRY MANKIN FROM THE SALT LAKE CHAMBER WITH YOUR METRO BUSINESS REPORT.

Several Salt Lake businesses report personnel changes. Christopherson Travel Group has hired six travel consultants to staff their new State of Utah On-site Travel Office. Those new consultants are Colleen Clark, Angie Mackelprang, Mary Marsden, Dot Gortcinsky, Tami Nelson, and Lynette Saccomanno.

MassMutual Financial Group, represented in Utah by Intermountain Financial Group, reported a 48 percent increase in worldwide premiums and other deposits for 2001. The company also reported a 10 percent growth in assets under management.

The National Speakers Association Utah Chapter announced that its Speakers School 2002 takes place on May 18th. The Speakers School features full-day training from some of Utah’s best professional speakers. For more information, go to www.utahspeakers.org.

Here’s a Chamber history fact: When the Salt Lake Chamber was formed in 1902, its original name was the Salt Lake Commercial Club. Eventually the organization changed its name to the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. The name was shortened just last year to the Salt Lake Chamber.

It is just one week away from what could be described as the last major event relating to the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Next Wednesday, on April 24th, the Chamber will honor Mitt Romney as A Giant In Our City. Join Governor Mike Leavitt, Mayor Rocky Anderson, SLOC COO Fraser Bullock, and many more in thanking Mitt Romney for a job well done. For more information please contact the Chamber at 328.5050 or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
