Several Salt Lake businesses report personnel changes. Taylor Oldroyd, a staffer in the Provo Mayor’s office (and former Government Affairs Director at the Salt Lake Chamber), was appointed as the director of Congressional and Public Affairs for Rural Development within the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Craig Britter has joined ArosNet as an account executive in the company’s corporate sales division. ArosNet has also named Thomas Jones as Technical Support Manager.

Community First National Bank has begun offering a variety of mortgage services through Community First Mortgage, a joint venture mortgage company with Wells Fargo. They will now offer full mortgage services and support for residential mortgage business at all Community First locations in Utah.

Here’s an Olympic business fact: According to research conducted by the Utah Division of Travel Development, before the Games, awareness of Utah among the general public in top international markets in Europe, Asia, and Latin America was generally low (averaging around 10 percent in most countries).

You are only one week away from Salt Lake’s biggest event for small business. The Chamber’s Giant Step Awards is next Wednesday, March 27th at the Little America Hotel. The speaker at this year’s banquet is Scott Watterson, Chairman, CEO, and Co-Founder of ICON Health and Fitness. Call the Chamber to register at 328-5055 or see us on the web at saltlakechamber.org.
