More than six-in-10 Americans have no moral qualms with transgender individuals identifying with a gender that is different from the sex with which they were born, according to newly released data from LifeWay Research.

The poll also found major differences between the views of evangelical Christians and people who embrace other faiths — as well as Americans more broadly — when it comes to the transgender issue.
