Big-D Construction has completed construction of the Ogden City Municipal Gardens Plaza and Amphitheater, located at 25th Street and Washington Boulevard in Ogden.

FTD has awarded the John A. Valentine award to John “Jack” Giles of Huddart Floral Company in Salt Lake. The Valentine award is the most prestigious award an FTD florist can receive.

The U.S. Small Business Administration awarded Dr. Dinesh Patel of Salus Therapeutics the Tibbetts Award. The Tibbetts Award is the agency’s highest national recognition for innovative technology.

Gentner Communications, which unveiled its new brand last week, signed an agreement with Radvision to promote its videoconferencing products through Gentner’s existing channels of distribution.

Here’s an Olympic business fact: Kent Murdock of O.C. Tanner showed a Gold Medal to the Chamber’s Board of Governors last week. I was very impressed with what O.C. Tanner has created for the winning athletes. Utah can be proud of these works of art.

The Chamber is putting together a series of important seminars to help small businesses meet the challenges brought on by the economic slowdown and the terrorist attacks. The first Meeting the Challenge Seminar is on “The Current Economic Outlook—What Can We Expect” and is tomorrow, November 2nd – from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. at the Chamber.
