A plan to save money by cutting back on school sports has some worried it could create an uneven playing field.
Smaller school districts are cutting the number of games high school athletes play each season. But some worry it gives bigger districts an advantage, especially in college recruiting. Ogden School District Superintendent Noel Zabriskie says, "The 1A, 2A or 3A school works under certain limitations. A 4A or 5A, being able to have more contests, that's not necessarily as level a field as we would like to have."
The plan applies to all sports except football. The goal is to give students more time in the classroom and save money on transportation.
