This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

There are a lot of horses and a lot of "horse people" in Utah. We have one of the highest horse populations in the country. Owning, riding, breeding and training horses is a fast growing activity in our state. Many people would like to own and ride but don't have the property or facilities to participate.

Work is now nearing completion on a new facility near Saratoga Springs in Utah County that will be one of the finest equestrian properties anywhere in the West. Coyote Creek Ranch is a 100,000-square-foot facility that will include veterinary facilities, offices, bathing and shoeing stalls and equipment and a large reception area. There is a 120 x 300-foot arena already in use and there will be over 100 stalls when the work is completed.

John Maughan is the owner and developer of the 15-acre equestrian park. He is a Utah contractor and took over the project from another builder, Orland Waltham who is now acting in an advisory capacity for Coyote Creek.

The property will provide training, housing, exercise service and a myriad of other services for the horse owners and lovers. There is an abundance of beautiful riding areas in and around the property. Mr. Maughn said, "Right out our back door is an old railroad bed that's been abandoned for many years. You can ride on that for about a quarter mile, then pick up the Pony Express Trail and go all the way to California if you want."

If you would like to visit the facility, it is located at 8194 W. Sagehill Drive at Saratoga Springs. You'll really be impressed by the facilities, but I think the horses will like it even more.

For Zions Bank, I’m Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
