The National Safety Council has selected Dr. Craig R. Barrett, president and chief executive officer of Intel Corporation, to receive the Council's 2001 Green Cross for safety Medal for his exemplary commitment to workplace safety and corporate citizenship. R&O Construction is constructing a Home Depot EXPO in Englewood, Colorado. The 95,000 square foot design center will be completed in October.
Larkin Memorial Corporation has donated $7,500 to The Compassionate Friends Organization from the proceeds of the 3rd annual Larkin Memorial Charity Golf Tournament held on June 22nd. Compassionate Friends Organization offers support and understanding to families who have experienced the death of a child.
Here's an Olympic business fact: The Sydney Games licensing was very successful-especially if you consider the host country's population. The licensed merchandise generated the equivalent of $2.50 from every man, woman, and child in Australia. This compares to only about 32 cents per person for previous games.
