Here’s an Olympic business fact: This week we are reviewing the different locations of the 2002 Cultural Olympiad Venues. Three of the cultural venues in Salt Lake City are The Rio Grande, The Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, and the Salt Lake Tabernacle.
The Chamber honors Spence Eccles tonight as A Giant In Our City. First Security Corporation, the last remaining piece of the Eccles enterprises, was sold late last year in an historic merger with Wells Fargo. Spence will finish his career as a member of Wells Fargo’s Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Wells Fargo Intermountain Banking Region. Spence says he plans to continue in this responsibility until he reaches age 70. He also currently serves on 13 separate boards of various businesses, governmental, and civic organizations. He holds seven honorary doctorates and has been recognized with countless other awards. For his achievements both professionally and personally and for his life-long 110% pursuit of excellence, the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce honors Spencer Fox Eccles as a true Giant In Our City.
