WEST VALLEY CITY — Police are asking for the public's help in finding two bicycles stolen from a West Valley woman battling cancer.

The woman, who is suffering from pancreatic cancer, used the bicycles as her primary means of transportation, said West Valley police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku.

Sometime between June 5 and 7, a man and woman broke into a secured area of the Fairbourne Station Apartments, 2900 W. Lehman (3590 South), and cut the locks off a gray, green and black specialized Rhyme FSR Comp, and an older model yellow and silver Giant 350c.

The gray bicycle, worth more than $3,000, was the woman's primary means of transportation, Vainuku said. It was not known whether the bikes were specifically targeted or stolen at random.

Anyone with information can call police at 801-840-4000.
