A large number of Utah school children won't just be going back to school this fall. They'll be going back to brand new schools.

All around the Wasatch Front new schools are getting ready to open their doors.

A teacher at the new Lakeview Elementary in Provo says it's always exciting to have everything brand new. But, "It has been a ton of work this summer," she said.

Provo district spokesperson Greg Hudnall says the district plans on opening the doors to three buildings this school year. "To get the facilities ready for the beginning of the school year is overwhelming," he said.

He says there're paint crews, getting the furniture in, and getting the staff in place. He says getting the teachers hasn't been too big of an issue this year because the district sees an increase in applicants when the economy slows down.
