FULLERTON, Calif., Aug 2, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- The city of Fullerton, Calif., is protesting artwork that was put up on bus benches around the city, featuring a promotion for the band Slayer's new album.
City officials are demanding that the artwork featuring the antichrist and a skull logo be removed from the 17 bus benches scattered throughout the city, Blabbermouth.net reported Wednesday.
The bus benches are promoting Slayer's new album, "Christ Illusion."
City officials have called the company that put the ads in place, demanding that they remove the ads, because they reportedly did not like the name of the band, which they think refers to a murderer.
"Christ Illusion," due out Tuesday, is the band's first studio album since 2001. It was recorded by the band's original line-up.
