Investment is a word we associate with things like the stock market, venture capital and hedge funds. But what about education? Many of our skills and abilities are developed early in life, which makes those early years a crucial time to invest in education.

Jeff Angerbauer understands the importance of a solid education, which is why he and his wife, Susie, decided to open a Huntington Learning Center in Utah. Ray and Eileen Huntington started the original Huntington Learning Center in New Jersey in1977 to provide educational support and tutoring for youth of all ages. The concept was so successful that the Huntingtons franchised it. There are now more than 400 locations all over the United States.

Huntington Learning Center takes a unique approach and uses a very successful program to provide enrichment and supplemental education materials for students who are struggling in school. The center provides tutoring help in reading, writing, math, spelling and phonics, as well as one-on-one test preparation for both the ACT and SAT. Jeff says the center has more than 600 pieces of curriculum that can be used to create an individualized tutoring plan for each student.

Jeff and Susie decided to open a Huntington Learning Center in Utah only a few months ago. Prior to that time, the Angerbauers were living in Texas and had the opportunity to purchase an existing center. However, they discovered they could open their own center and started researching locations. Jeff grew up in Utah and was excited for the chance to bring this learning center concept back to the state. Jeff and Susie's Huntington Learning Center opened the doors in its Draper location in July.

The response to the center thus far has been positive. Jeff and Susie have been working to develop relationships with local schools, and parents inquire regularly about the services the center offers. The timing for the center is ideal, and Jeff hopes to see it continue helping youth have a successful educational experience.
