An unedited original scroll version of On the Road by Jack Kerouac is to be published by Viking Press in September 2007, 50 years after it was originally published by Viking.
According to Reuters, the original manuscript was purchased in 2001 by Jim Irsay, owner of the Indianapolis Colts professional football team, and it is currently on a US national tour of museums and libraries.
The new version of the book is to be printed in hardback and will include the real names of the characters.
The novel was originally published on 5 September 1957.
