(KSL News) The Salt Lake District Attorney's Office has decided not to file felony charges against parents of two children allegedly kidnapped by their next-door neighbor.

The parents and several other adults allegedly beat up David Bell and his partner, Dan Fair, the morning of July 4 after they found their daughter and nephew in Bell's home. The two were severely beaten, suffering broken eye sockets, black eyes and multiple cuts and bruises.

The case is now being screened for possible misdemeanor charges.

Bell was arrested and has been charged in 3rd District Court with two counts of child kidnapping.
