THE LAND OF GIANTS — The first full-length trailer for “The BFG” is now online and it offers a glimpse into the world of Roald Dahl.
The new film is based off the beloved Dahl book “The BFG (The Big Friendly Giant).” This film has been a long time coming, but the content was too hard to make into a live action film until recently. When you have huge set pieces, several giants running around and a well-known story to keep intact, what should you do? Get Steven Spielberg, of course.
The trailer for Spielberg’s latest definitely captures the magic and wonder we were hoping to see, but from my stand point, I hope the CGI holds up enough to not pull me out of the film. According to the trailer this could actually fall either way. With all of that said the clip is certainly intriguing given the source material, the master at the helm, the pacing and set up it offers.
“The BFG” is slated to be released in theaters on July 1 and will go up against “The Legend of Tarzan” and “The Purge: Election Year” that weekend.
