(KSL News) Hurricane police say two juveniles have been referred to juvenile court for allegedly starting a fire that heavily damaged a storage building on Friday.

It happened in the area of 50 East 100 North in Hurricane around 5:30 p.m.

Investigators say surveillance video shows the suspects lighting fireworks in the area. Sparks from that ignited dry leaves next to the storage structure, which belongs to Metcalf Mortuary. The flames quickly spread to the building.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found the building and nearby power pole fully engulfed in flames. No one was inside the structure.

Electronic equipment was being stored in the building. An adjacent building also was damaged.

Two firefighters were treated at the scene for heat exhaustion. No other injuries were reported.
