HOUSTON (AP) — Derail Green scored 23 points with eight rebounds and Incarnate Word topped Houston Baptist 97-91 on Monday night.

Green was 10 of 16 from the field and the Cardinals (14-11, 9-5 Southland) shot over 62 percent. Kyle Hittle scored 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting, Mitchell Badillo had 16 points with seven assists, and Shawn Johnson added 12.

Houston Baptist (16-12, 10-5) was led by Anthony Odunsi with 25 points and eight assists. Colter Lasher scored 24 points and Cody Stetler added 13.

Incarnate Word held a close lead most of the game. Houston Baptist trimmed its deficit to two on Lasher's jumper with 2:49 to go. But on the next possession, Johnson hit a 3-pointer for the Cardinals, and after a Houston Baptist miss, Hittle drained a 3 to make it an eight-point game. The Cardinals made six straight free throws in the last 41 seconds to seal it.
