NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Rangers have recalled forward Marek Hrivik from Hartford and assigned forward Daniel Paille to the AHL team.

New York Rangers general manager Jeff Gorton announced the moves Sunday before the Rangers played the Detroit Red Wings.

Coach Alain Vigneault said that Hrivik will skate with Dominic Moore and Tanner Glass, and he may kill penalties in his NHL debut.

Hrivik, 24, had seven goals and 21 assists in 52 games for Hartford. Paille skated in 12 games with the Rangers after signing with the team as a free agent on Jan. 21.

Vigneault said a CT scan of Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh's jaw was negative and he is sidelined with neck spasms. Rich Nash remains out with a bone bruise in his left leg.
