SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The mystery over the identity of a critically injured woman was solved a week after she was hit by a car when family members filed a missing person's report.
Rachael Terry, who turns 25 next week, was not carrying identification when she was struck while crossing a street July 18. Police had sought the public's help by releasing her hospital picture to news media, but her name still wasn't learned for a week.
Family members didn't know about the incident when they stepped forward Tuesday to report her missing, Detective Robin Snyder said Wednesday.
"We got family to come down to the hospital and identify her. She's still on life support at University Hospital," Snyder said.
