(KSL News) Pedro Sosa-Avilias was sentenced today to 90 days in jail for hitting and killing a bicyclist two years ago in Holladay.
The bicyclist was heading down 3900 South around midnight when a car hit him from behind. The victim flew almost 300 feet and suffered severe head and leg injuries.
Witnesses told police Sosa never slowed down. He says he panicked, but he later turned himself in.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports Sosa made a deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty to misdemeanor negligent homicide.
