MELBOURNE (AP) — In case you missed some of the overnight results from the Australian Open the second day of play produced several upsets. CLEVELAND (AP) — The highly anticipated rematch between the Warriors and Cavaliers in Cleveland last night turned out to be a mismatch. The Warriors took charge from the start of the game and blew out the punch-less Cavs 132-98.
AMES, Iowa (AP) — Being No. 1 in The Associated Press poll seems to be a jinx to the team so honored. Monday afternoon Oklahoma was picked No. 1 and then hours later the Sooners lost to Iowa State 82-77. The Sooners by the way are the fifth team to be named No. 1 this season. PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Eagles made it official yesterday, naming Doug Pederson as their head coach. He replaces the fired Chip Kelly who landed on his feet by securing the head coaching job with the 49ers. Pederson is a former quarterback with the Eagles and has spent the last three seasons as the offensive coordinator with Kansas City.
CINCINNATI (AP) — Pete Rose has found a hall of fame that wants him. Baseball's all-time base hits leader will be inducted into the Cincinnati Reds hall this June. Rose starred for the Reds when they were a power back in the mid-70's.
