COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — A Norwegian court has sentenced three men up to nearly five years for fighting with or supporting the Islamic State group in Syria.
Norwegian media reported that Valon Avdyli, 29, was sentenced to four years and nine months and Djibril Bashir, 31, to four years and six months. Visar Avdyli — Valon's 26-year-old brother — got eight months for violation of Norway's weapons law and for supporting IS by sending clothes and combat equipment.
The Borgarting Court of Appeal in Oslo disclosed the sentences but not the names.
A lower court had convicted the men in May. All pleaded not guilty.
