SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — Chris Martin scored 16 points and Savannah State defeated Delaware State 64-47 Monday night.
Martin was 6 of 11 from the field and 4 of 7 from beyond the arc for the Tigers (7-9, 3-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic). Lenjo Kilo had 14 points with 10 rebounds and Troyce Manassa scored 13 points with nine boards. Savannah State outrebounded Delaware State 34-25, with 11 offensive boards.
Devin Morgan Jr. led the Hornets (1-16, 0-3) with 15 points. DeAndre Haywood had 12 points. Delaware State made just 2 of 16 3-point attempts.
Savannah State raced out to a 16-2 lead and never trailed. Delaware State missed its first six shots and turned it over four times over the first eight minutes of the game. The Tigers led 29-16 at the break, and the lead hit 20 on Martin's 3-pointer early in the second half.
