JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — Trevis Wyche scored 20 points and Saint Peter's defeated Marist 76-67 on Sunday.
Wyche was 10 of 12 from the free-throw line, Antwon Portley added 15 points and Quadir Welton was 8 of 10 from the line for 14 points along with eight rebounds for the Peacocks (7-8, 5-1 Metro Athletic Atlantic Association).
Marist's Khallid Hart, coming in ranked eighth in the nation in scoring (22.7), finished with 25, making 12 of 13 free throws. Brian Parker added 17 points and eight rebounds and Isaiah Lamb had 10 points for the Red Foxes (4-12, 1-6).
After trailing by eight at halftime, Marist took a two-point lead with 8:56 to go before the Peacocks responded with a 16-2 run with six points each from Wyche and Welton. The Red Foxes closed to 68-60 with 1:38 left but the Peacocks finished with eight free throws, five by Wyche and three from Portley.
