NEW YORK (AP) — Constellation romped to a 10-length win Sunday as the 1-20 favorite in the $95,000 Ruthless Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Aqueduct.
It was no contest, with Constellation shaking loose after the opening quarter mile. She improved to 3-1-1 in five starts for the team of trainer Steve Asmussen and jockey Irad Ortiz Jr.
Ortiz says: "She was much the best today. She broke great out of there and she was ready."
The time was 1:10:89 for the six furlongs.
Constellation paid $2.10 and $2.10.
Kalabaka got second, returning $2.70.
Mo d'Amour was third, followed by Wave of Glory.
There was no show wagering on the four-horse field.
