CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The Charlotte Panthers jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead in their NFC Divisional playoff game with Seattle. Jonathan Stewart ran for a four-yard touchdown and then on the next series Luke Kuechly (KEEK'-lee) intercepted Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson and scored from 14 yards out.

DENVER (AP) — Today's AFC Divisional playoff game is being held in Denver with the Broncos entertaining the Steelers. Denver had a bye last week while the Steelers beat the Bengals in Cincinnati. In that game Antonio Brown of the Steelers, their fine wide receiver, suffered a concussion and is not playing in today's game.

UNDATED (AP) — Michigan State is the highest-ranked team in action today in men's basketball. The fourth-ranked Spartans are in Madison for date with Wisconsin's Badgers. The only other Top-10 team with a game today is unbeaten SMU. The 10th-ranked Mustangs, who are 16-0, are at Tulane.

UNDATED (AP) — A check of the NBA and NHL schedules shows a combined five games being played this afternoon. In the lone NBA contest Minnesota is home to Phoenix, while on ice the Penguins are hosting the Hurricanes, Vancouver is in New York playing the Islanders, the Lightning are home to Florida and Washington is entertaining the Rangers.

HONOLULU (AP) — The final round of the PGA's Sony Open is being played today in Honolulu. At the end of the third round yesterday the lead was shared by Brandt Snedeker and Zac Blair at 16 under par. Kevin Kiser was one back after shooting a birdie on the final hole.
