BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) — Jackson Trapp made his only field goal of the game, a 3-pointer with 3.2 seconds left as Florida Atlantic rallied from a 20-point halftime deficit to beat Louisiana Tech 63-61 on Saturday night.
Louisiana Tech had a 36-16 halftime lead, and led 45-36 with 11 minutes remaining. Florida Atlantic used a 22-9 run to take its first lead, 58-56 with 1:11 to play. Solomon Poole scored nine points and Jesse Hill added six during the stretch.
The teams traded layups, and Erik McCree converted a 3-point play to give the Bulldogs a 61-60 lead with 15.9 seconds left before Trapp hit the game winner.
Poole and Nick Rutherford scored 16 points apiece to lead Florida Atlantic (4-14, 2-3 Conference USA).
Alex Hamilton scored 20 points for Louisiana Tech (13-5, 2-3). Merrill Holden added 13 points on 6-of-6 shooting from the field.
