FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Marvelle Harris poured in 32 points as Fresno State held off a San Jose State comeback to post an 81-74 Mountain West Conference win Saturday.

Jaycee Hillsman hit a three-pointer to even the score at 14 midway through the first half, but Fresno State (12-6, 3-2 Moutain West) sprinted into intermission with a 38-22 lead. Harris hit a free throw with 12:45 left in the game to push the lead to 19 points, 55-36.

The Spartans (6-12, 1-5) battled back to cut the lead to seven in the final minute, but Harris was 4 for 4 from the line in the final minute to close out the victory.

Harris finished 12 of 15 from the free throw line. Torren Jones converted 9 of 10 from the free throw line for 11 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

Ryan had 28 points for San Jose State on 5 of 11 shooting from deep.
