SAN ANTONIO, Texas (AP) — Christian Wilson scored a career-high 25 points and hit the go-ahead bucket to help rally Texas-San Antonio to a 71-67 win over UTEP on Saturday.
Trailing by 10 at halftime, Wilson scored eight-straight points to pull UTSA within 54-45, and the Roadrunners tied it at 60 on A.J. Cockrell's layup with 7:03 left.
The lead flip-flopped until Wilson broke a 66-all tie with a layup with 1:23 left. Texas-San Antonio outscored the Miners 7-1 in the final three minutes.
Wilson hit 11 of the Roadrunners' 18 free throws and had five assists. Lucas O'Brien scored 12 points, J.R. Harris added 10, and the Roadrunners (4-14, 2-3 Conference USA) outrebounded the Miners 43-34.
Hooper Vint scored a season-high 12 points and had 10 rebounds, and Terry Winn added a season-high 12 for UTEP (10-8, 2-3). Lee Moore and Earvin Morris each scored a season-high 11 points.
