LISBON, Portugal (AP) — Benfica fought back to beat Estoril 2-1 and pull to within two points of Portuguese league leader Sporting Lisbon on Saturday.
Leo Bonatini put Estoril ahead early, but Benfica got a goal from halftime substitute Konstantinos Mitroglou to level before Luis "Pizzi" Afonso grabbed the win after scoring from Jonas' pass.
Sporting stumbled on Friday after conceding a late goal at home to draw with bottom-side Tondela 2-2.
FC Porto will also look to close the gap with the pacesetters to two points with a victory at Guimaraes on Sunday.
Also on Saturday, Uniao de Madeira won 1-0 at Maritimo, while Academica was held at home by Pacos Ferrreira 1-1.
