DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities in a southwest Ohio city say a 13-month-old boy has been killed in a drive-by shooting.
The Montgomery County coroner's office says Elijah Johnson died Thursday just before midnight. His death was still under investigation Friday.
Dayton police say the boy, a man and a woman were hit by shots from a passing car as they stood outside a house Thursday afternoon. The adults were treated for their wounds at hospitals and released.
Police say they don't know why the people were targeted and haven't identified any suspects.
A 2-year-old boy Dayton was seriously wounded when gunshots were fired at a car he was in Dec. 24. A 20-year-old man has been charged with felonious assault in that case.
