MIDVALE, Utah (AP) — Unified police have raided three Internet cafe businesses following a yearlong investigation into alleged online gambling.

The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/1TZDmSM ) that roughly 150 gaming consoles were seized in total from three businesses that were shut down in Midvale, Salt Lake City and Kearns on Thursday. No arrests were made, but police say seven people could face charges.

Unified Police Lt. Lex Bell says the police department had launched an investigation about a year and a half ago after receiving complaints about alleged illegal activity at Midvale Mouse Pad.

Police investigated all three Mouse Pad locations and performed undercover operations at each business.

Bell says officers found that people had been using the game consoles for illegal Internet gambling and would win cash payouts.
