DAVIS, Calif. (AP) — Siler Schneider hit a 3-pointer with 1.4 seconds left to lift UC Davis to a 63-62 win over Cal State-Northridge on Thursday night.
Schneider finished with 17 points and Josh Fox added 13 for Davis.
A layup by Olalekan Ajayi gave Northridge (6-11, 1-2 Big West) its biggest lead of the game, 56-45, with 10:19 to play, but Davis (6-10, 1-2) responded with an 11-2 run over the next five-plus minutes to pull within two.
After a dunk by Ajayi made it 60-56 with 3:12 left ended a scoreless drought by Northridge that spanned nearly 4½ minutes, a tip-in, and then a layup with 41 seconds left, by Fox tied it — for the first time since 21-21.
Michael Warren hit a left-handed runner in the lane to put the Matadors up 62-60 with 11 seconds remaining but Fox found Schneider in the right corner for the winner.
Warren led Northridge with 16 points.
