San Diego beats Portland 82-71 for first WCC win

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Duda Sanadze scored a season-high 29 points and San Diego cruised to an 82-71 victory over Portland on Thursday night.

Sanadze made 10 of 14 field goals and three 3-pointers. Jito Kok had 17 points and Vasa Pusica added 13 points and six assists for the Toreros (6-10, 1-4 West Coast Conference), who won their first conference game to snap a four-game skid.

Alec Wintering scored 23 points and Bryce Pressley had 20 to led Portland (8-11, 2-4).

Christian Oshita scored four points and Sanadze made a 3-pointer to cap a 7-2 surge and the Toreros led 35-28 at halftime. Sanadze scored five points as part of a 12-2 run to stretch San Diego's lead to 47-34, and the Toreros had a double-digit lead for nearly the rest of the way.

Jazz Johnson's 3-pointer pulled the Pilots to 77-69 with 37 seconds left.
