PITTSBURGH (AP) — Left-hander Jeff Locke and the Pittsburgh Pirates agreed to a one-year contract worth $3,025,000, a raise from $531,000.

The 28-year-old, eligible for arbitration for the first time, was 8-11 with a 4.49 ERA in 30 starts last year.

Six Pirates remained on track to swap proposed arbitration figures with the team Friday: right-handers Mark Melancon and Jared Hughes; catchers Francisco Cervelli and Chris Stewart; shortstop Jordy Mercer; and left-hander Tony Watson.
