NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — William Lee hit five 3-pointers and finished with 28 points, both career highs, and Nick Norton made a layup with three seconds left in overtime to help UAB beat Old Dominion 72-71 Thursday night.

Norton had all of his four points, and Lee scored 10, in overtime. Robert Brown finished with 14 points and five assists for the Blazers.

Lee hit a 3 to put UAB (13-3, 3-0 Conference USA) up 67-66 with 1:27 left in overtime.

After Old Dominion's Trey Freeman answered with a 3 of his own, Lee hit another to make it 70-69 with 39 seconds to play.

Ahmad Caver's jumper put the Monarchs up one with nine seconds remaining but, after Lee missed from long range, Norton grabbed an offensive rebound and his layup proved to be the winner.

Trey Freeman tied a career high with 18 points to lead ODU (9-7, 2-1).

UAB has won 11 in a row for the first time since the 1993-94 season.
