Wofford holds off The Citadel 86-83

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Spencer Collins scored 18 points and Wofford defeated The Citadel 86-83 on Thursday night.

C.J. Neumann added 12 points and 12 rebounds for his first double-double. Eric Garcia and Fletcher Magee added 14 points each for the Terriers (7-10, 4-1 Southern), who shot 51 percent and were 8 of 18 from 3-point range, including three apiece for Collins and Magee.

Derrick Henry had 21 points and Quinton Marshall 19 points for the Bulldogs (7-10, 0-4), who were outrebounded 42-23.

Wofford has won four of its last five while The Citadel has lost six straight.

Wofford led by six at halftime and Collins put the Bulldogs up 14 with 10:55 left. A 3-point play by Henry got the Bulldogs within 86-83 with 38 seconds left. Both teams missed shots then Wofford turned the ball over on a shot-clock violation with eight seconds left but P.J. Boutte's 3-point try wasn't close.
