INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano hired Jim Herrman as linebackers coach and Darren Krein as head strength and conditioning coach Wednesday, then continued his staff shake-up by announcing offensive line coach Hal Hunter would not return.
Since getting a four-year extension last week, Pagano has parted ways with seven assistants including defensive coordinator Greg Manusky, both secondary coaches, linebackers coach Jeff Fitzgerald and now Hunter, the third offensive assistant to be let go. Hunter was in charge of an offensive line that couldn't protect Andrew Luck or consistently open running lanes last season.
Herrman spent the last seven seasons with the New York Giants and the previous three with the Jets.
Krein was the Miami Dolphins' top strength coach from 2011-15.
