STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (AP) — Police say two suburban schools went on lockdown after a person was shot to death and two others injured nearby at an apartment complex.
DeKalb police tell local news media that the lockdowns occurred at Stone Mountain High School and Hambrick Elementary around noon Wednesday. Police say one of the victims died at the scene.
Police say the two others injured in the shooting were taken to the hospital. Police say they do not know the conditions of the victims.
Investigators are still trying to determine the motive.
The identities of the shooting victims have not been released.
The schools have remained on lockdown while police investigates as a precaution.
